The Test Development Engineer/Test Coordinator is responsible for helping develop test procedures and specifying/procuring equipment to support engine component and system development activities. He/she will develop component and engine system level test plans along with engine design engineers, build coordinators and test management team members. In addition, the test coordinator may be involved in directing special mechanical development tests in both engine dynamometers and motoring test rigs. This position will require coordination of build and test activities for early mule phase builds as well as later pilot phases. Interaction with the engineering, test and manufacturing communities is a key element of this position. The successful test coordinator must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
* Experience with basic engine instrumentation (accelerometers, pressure transducers, load cells, etc.), and engine test/engine build planning
* Microsoft Office basic software (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook) experience
* Minimum of 2 years' automotive test and test development experience/ or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with FMEA and DVP&R process, preferably with engine components/systems
* Experience as an automotive technician or equivalent
* Engine calibration experience
* Microsoft Project experience
* Working knowledge of CAS/INCA/ETAS
