Job Description
SUMMARY Under general supervision ensures that the winery operates in accordance with federal and state regulations by performing administrative functions verifying the accuracy and compliance of documents submitted to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) as well as other government agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •Maintains sample database to ensure accuracy and sample payment on semi-monthly taxes. •Creates sample orders for entry into JD Edwards database. •Maintains database for formula wines to ensure accurate tax rates are being applied. •Prepares semi-monthly taxes and submits to finance department for payment. •Calculates rates for semi-monthly tax reporting. •Validates data (lot numbers, tax class, state of process) prior to entry into Wine Manager database. •Runs reports in preparation of monthly TTB reports. •Maintains monthly Excel spreadsheets for storage, processing, and the bottling reports. •Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. •Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration. •This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of clerical or administrative experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. •Knowledge of TTB export regulations. •Experience working in a team-oriented atmosphere. •Skilled in the use of JD Edwards software application. •Type 40-60 wpm. •Self-starter. • Knowledge of TTB and state excise taxes/compliance laws. •Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. •Skilled in computing rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. •Experience applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. •Experience dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. •Courteous and effective communication skills. •Experience with multi-tasking. •Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. •Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
