The Product Engineer - 4 Wheel Drive and Driveline Design and Development will be responsible for the design, develop and release 4WD and driveline systems and components which may include transfer cases, PTU's, and RDM's. Responsibilities may also include prop shafts, and half shafts, device controls and driveline adaptation components. The specific responsibilities include interface design, packaging, performance specification and system validation. Extended responsibilities include team leadership, vehicle adaptation, system calibration, support the analysis and resolution of warranty claims, and implementation of cost reduction initiatives and product launch support. The Engineer will be responsible to successfully interact and communicate 4WD systems and driveline engineering requirements to Program Management, Vehicle Integration, Procurement and Supply, Supplier Quality, and associated engineering organizations. The Engineer will define and develop customer functional objectives and prepare formal documentation as required by each program to include source packages, DVP&R's, PAP's, and related program management documents. The chosen candidates will lead simultaneous engineering activities with the supplier and affected vehicle engineering teams for all major programs. The engineer will lead and participate in FMEA activities both in-house and at the suppliers. He/she will define component and vehicle system interfaces and participate in design and process reviews with the supplier. The candidate will review design engineering calculations. He/she will coordinate and assist in the development of validation plans with the supplier and internal reliability organizations and participate in warranty reviews; support resolution of product quality issues. The engineer will assist in the analysis and resolution of NVH related issues and manage product changes as required to support product improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering will also be considered with relevant experience from an ABET accredited university
* Minimum two years engineering experience
* Automotive engineering experience
* Previous FMEA and DVP&R experience
* Knowledge with GD&T
* Proficient use of MS Office

* Experience with 4WD driveline components and controls
* Vector CANape/CANalyzer
