The Senior Public Relations Specialist functions as an integral member of a cohesive Public Affairs team with major responsibility for planning, developing and executing strategic internal and external communications programs. He/She will work closely with other departments in the Region to develop effective campaigns and programs to help employees and physicians understand, accept and support business goals and changes required to meet them. Provides advice and counsel to other departments and organizational leaders on creating effective communications and produces materials as requested. Monitors, maintains and creates content on the Georgia Region intranet and explores and develops other methods and vehicles for distributing key messages. He/She helps develop, execute and manage effective public relations and media relations campaigns.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute effective internal communications plans supporting the Georgia Region's strategic communications goals. - Write or edits features stories, columns, fact sheets, presentations and other products to support communications plans. - Provides strategic counsel to senior leaders on internal communications strategies, identifying and developing ways for them to communicate effectively with staff. - Create promotional communications products, including writing, designing and laying-out flyers, programs, posters, invitations and signage, to support internal communications campaigns. - Strategically develop, create and manage intranet pages, microsites, html/graphic e-mails and online newsletters to support internal communications plans. - Create or manage production of audio/visual, PowerPoint and other AV presentations. - Provide communications support for corporate meetings and internal promotional events. - Develop and execute effective public relations plans to engage employees, stakeholders and the public in understanding and supporting Kaiser Permanente programs and initiatives. - Write, edit and prepare speeches, talking points and presentations for the organization's leaders and help prepare them for speaking engagements and other public appearances. - Manage or coordinate invitations, signage, promotional items and other communications products and provide onsite support for functions including public relations events, community relations activities, and other events. - Manage photographic and video services and projects that support public affairs projects and campaigns. - Develop and execute effective social media strategies to engage stakeholders and the public. - Develop media materials, such as press releases, statements, advisories, pitches, backgrounders and fact sheets that promote Kaiser Permanente activities, policy positions, events, awards, etc. - Consistently support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures. - Access to protected health information (PHI) will be limited to the minimum necessary required to effectively perform job. - Perform other duties as assigned.
