The American Diabetes Association has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced telecommunications professional to support the nationwide converged voice/data WAN/LAN platforms. Platforms include the 90+ node MPLS voice and data network consisting of 100+ MPLS T1 circuits, routers, switches, PBX platforms, IP and TDM phones, voice mail, auto attendants, and voice conferencing systems. The Manager, Telecommunication Systems position reports to the Senior Manager, Telecommunication Systems, in the Information Technology & Services Division. This position is located in the Home Office (HQ) in Alexandria, VA.
Responsibilities:
* Installation, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of ADA Networking and Telephony platforms
* Manage data backup of telecommunication systems
* Hands-on support in the Alexandria and Fairfax offices with remote support of offices nationwide
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
* Networking experience to include TCP/IP, COS/QOS, MPLS, T1, and PRI
* Working knowledge of SIP, Linux, WinXP or higher, Active Directory, Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 is preferred
* 3 – 5 yrs. experience working with Avaya Communication Manager and Modular Messaging, including media servers, media gateways, IP and TDM endpoints, and various telecom trunks
* 3 – 5 yrs. experience with Avaya Call Center applications including Vectors, CMS, and recording platforms
* Experience of call accounting CDR/SMDR systems such as eCAS
* 3 – 5 yrs. experience working with Avaya (Nortel Networks) WAN systems including SR100x, SR32xx routers and LAN systems including, 45xx, 55xx, 8600
* Telecom and network upgrade implementation experience highly preferred
* Cable plant experience to include CAT3, CAT5, Riser, Coax, and Fiber
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well with others
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Must be willing and able to participate in on-call rotation
* Limited travel required
