This Account Manager achieves membership and enrollment goals by establishing and maintaining positive professional, long-term relationships with high level managers of small (<51>

Essential Functions:
- Conserves group membership each month by contacting every group during the sensitive period before their renewal to convince the decision-maker to accept their increased premium amount. Untangles the series of complex factors that go into the actuarial formula that calculates the new premium so that the small business owner fully understands the reasons for and the validity of the new premium pricing. Uses their influence skills to persuade the business owner not to consider our competitors' health insurance plans as a replacement for KP-GA. Clarifies any areas of confusion surrounding the underwriting requirements so that the group remains in compliance with state and federal law and KP-GA's pricing rules.
- Customer Service: Provides a high level of service to internal and external customers, consultants and brokers. Visibly demonstrates a service focus in all interactions. Persuasively differentiates Kaiser on the basis of service quality and medical quality on an ongoing basis.
- Competitor and Market Knowledge: Monitors the Health Plan's competitive position with existing territory. Identifies competitive strengths and can effectively use this knowledge as the basis for an effective account management strategy. Recognizes competitive weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Recommends changes in marketing strategy to Manager Account Management and Service to maximize Kaiser Permanente's competitive position.
- Market Reporting: Monitors territory on a continuing basis and communicates market trends, competition, economic changes, and other activities, which might affect the renewal and sales/marketing effort. Routinely reports these assessments along with recommended changes to the Manager of Account Management and Service and other key leadership as appropriate.
- Professional Development: Attends regional training programs and special seminars to keep abreast of new health care/employee benefit laws, programs and national issues. Continually increases knowledge of local competitors and labor markets. Acquires and maintains detailed knowledge of Kaiser Permanente programs/products, industry practices and employer groups.
