Description

Role is responsible for providing clinical expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Oversee the management of daily operations within the department.
  • Responsible for analyzing and recording inventory and productivity.
  • Be available to coach, motivate and develop supervisors.
  • Performs disciplinary, and development of action plans and performance evaluations.
  • Clinical problem solver with facilities, providers and carriers providing resolution on issues concerning members, program definition and clarification.
  • Retrieves/Reviews regulatory reports.
  • Identify, implement, and quantify process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Forecast and analyze data, review workforce tool, conduct time and motion studies biannually.
  • Facilitate, attend and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Own relationship with leaders of business segments up or downstream, to include health plans, compliance etc.
  • Be a role model and lead by example.

Requirements

Requirements include:
  • Registered Nurse with current, unrestricted license in TX
  • Significant clinical experience - preferably in acute care, hospital, home health, or long-term care
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in utilization review, concurrent review and/or risk management
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency including Powerpoint and Excel
  • Must be able to work in the office

 

In addition, ideal assets include:

  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Managed Care experience
  • BSN or higher
  • Experience with Medicaid
  • Experience managing a remote staff
