Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) and Children's Hospital of New Jersey (CHONJ) is an award winning medical institution and teaching hospital. NBIMC is a 673-bed medical center offering comprehensive health care, with more than 800 physicians and 3,600 employees and serves a major referral source and treatment center for patients throughout the region.
Established in 1901, the hospital has a long history of providing many firsts in the national and state medical community. NBIMC is third in the nation in the number of heart transplants with better than expected outcomes, has the only lung transplant program in New Jersey, and combined with Saint Barnabas Medical Center, both Barnabas Health affiliates, is third in the nation for kidney transplants, by volume.
Provide psych education services, including counseling, parenting skills, and family therapy to adults referred by the Division of Child Protection & Permanency (DCP&P) for physical abuse and neglect of children. Provide therapy for child sexual abuse victims in the RDTC. Provide community outreach services.
Conduct intake evaluations for adults referred the Family Life Education Center;
Provide child and family therapy for child abuse victims;
Provide crisis intervention and emergency services to victims and families;
Provide individual and parent counseling and family therapy for adults;
Provide parenting skills training for adults referred by
DCP&P for physical abuse/neglec of their children;
Provide written psychosocial evaluations for each client seen for intake in a timely manner;
Provide outreach, training, and workshops on issues related to child maltreatment to hospitals and community agencies.
Bilingual Spanish/English; Masters degree in psychology, social work, counseling; Licenced or licence eligible; one year expereince working with child abuse and neglect victim and parents
