The Class Produce Group is a third generation family-owned business, which has been servicing the greater Baltimore/Washington corridor for 70 years. We started with one stall in 1936 at the old Baltimore Marsh Market. As the business grew, Deemer Class expanded to the Pulaski Highway Market in 1960. In 1975, the business moved to the newly constructed Maryland Wholesale Produce Market in Jessup, MD. This centralized location helped vendors better serve customers in the D. C. and Baltimore corridor.
Deemer Class was dedicated to providing only the highest quality. He conducted business with a handshake and smile and was known for honesty and first class service. He was able to pass these principles on to his son, Pete, and through Pete to his grandsons, who now manage the business.
In 2004, we moved our operation to our own distribution center in Jessup. The Class Produce Group has enhanced customer access to a larger product line, including locals and organics, augmented buying power, additional distribution services, including direct ship. The knowledge and experience of our management team enables us to serve some of the largest customers on the East Coast. The Class Produce Group LLC is seeking an experienced Salesperson and/or Manager with a proven track record in the produce industry. Prior experience should include corporate sales. This individual must be self-motivated and have strong communication skills to use with building accounts, working with the sales team and coordinating with the principals. Directing the sales team of 15
Generating sales
Developing and implementing a sales plan, setting goals for individuals and the team
Performing market analysis and sales forecasting
Analyzing sales statistics
Assisting with sales calls and presentations, as needed
Coordinating with other departments in the company
Skills:
5 years sales experience in produce
Fresh-cut sales experience a plus
Strong communication skills
Computer literate
Bilingual (Spanish or Korean and English) a plus
