Job Posting Number: 24758BR Job Posting Title: Health Unit Coordinator Job Posting Category: Office/Secretarial/Clerical Support Work Site: MCHS - NW WI - Eau Claire Department: Medical Surgical Job Description The health unit coordinator (HUC) provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to the patient care units; supports patient care through processing and managing provider and nursing orders, maintaining the patient medical record within the department; maintaining an efficient, well-organized department by keeping supplies available. The HUC communicates information accurately in a pleasant and efficient manner to a variety of individuals, including but not limited to patients, visitors, nursing and medical staffs, and other departments. The HUC functions as a resource to members of the health care team in matters pertaining to non-direct patient care and is familiar with multiple resources, carries out all aspects of the job using good judgment and problem-solving skills, assumes responsibility for self-development with the role, and participates in performance improvement activities. Basic Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a health unit coordinator program (preferred). Current CHUC certification (preferred). Other Qualifications: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge and skill. Knowledge of medical termminology. Organizes and prioritizes work/task, interprets medical abbreviations and symbols. License or Certification: Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Non-exempt Hours/Pay Period: Full time; 64 hours per pay period Schedule Details: 8 and 12 hr shifts; 7am- 7:30pm/days 6am-2:30pm/evening 2pm-10:30pm rotation. Weekend Schedule: 1 of every 3 weekends rotating shifts of 6am-630pm/930pm-10pm. Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $14.47 per hour.
