Description Job Posting Number: 24898BR Job Posting Title: Emergency Dept Technician(EDT) Job Posting Category: Other Patient Care Work Site: MCHS - NW WI - Eau Claire Department: Emergency Department Job Description The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The EDT provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients and performs approved procedures per policy. The EDT assists patients with activities of daily living and assists with the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. Basic Qualifications: EMT-B, or equivalent education or experience. One year of experience as EMT. One year inpatient hospital experience, preferred. High school graduate or equivalent, preferred Other Qualifications: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge. Decision making and problem solving skills, spoken and written communication skills, and team building skills. Ability to perform duties in a self directed manner. License or Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for the Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer prior to hire. Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Non-exempt Hours/Pay Period: 40 Schedule Details: Evening and night rotation - 11:00a-11:00p and 7:00p-7:00a. Weekend Schedule: 1 of 3 weekend Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $13.75 per hour.
