Day to Day Work
Responsible for consulting with customers supporting company and/or multi-vendor products and systems. Provides technical support in sales presentations; product demonstrations, customer training, and delivery of professional services. Understands, develops and delivers solutions to customers' business, technical and educational needs. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Interacts with senior customer personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination with groups across organizational lines. Applies extensive knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
1. Candidate will have experience in all disciplines in JEE specification, but with heavy emphasis on Java coding, Web Service development, back-end and legacy integration, web service standards clustering around WS-I profile, knowledge of Agile programming and common practices such as continuous build and unit test (employing JUnit), Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, ANT, and related technologies.
2. Basic knowledge of SQL and basic XML a must.
3. Signficant hands-on experience in developing Web Services in the JEE environment, with emphasis on Jersey (experience in others such as Axis, RestEasy…OK). Should be knowledgable in both REST and SOAP-based web services.
4. Knowledge of emerging data standards (XML-derived XML4IP as well as related XML query languages, transformations (Smooks) and stylesheets a significant plus.
5. Knowledge of messaging platforms (Java Messaging Service, MQ) and messaging-based architecture such as Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and similar paradigms important.
6. Hands-on experience with an ESB and be comfortable discussing designs through EIP (Enterprise Integration Patterns) or other design pattern frameworks.
7. Must be able to describe all phases of testing for web services with experience in tools like JUnit, SOAPUI, JMeter/Grinder, and other commercial scripting tools.
8. Highly desirable but not mandatory - JBOSS SOA-P, knowledge of Registry and Repository for Runtime (jUDDI, JAXR) are emerging and so of high value
9. Knowledge of non-JBoss/Tomcat applications server is a plus
Experience/Education Requirements:
Average of 10 years implementation and planning experience or equivalent certifications and/or experience. Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
