Educational Requirements:High School Diploma Position Requirements:Training and/or expertise qualifying the individual to operate and maintain the electrical and mechanical systems within the nursing center. Job Specific Details: Job SummaryResponsible to assist the Maintenance Technician in performing routine maintenance and repair work.Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities- Lubricates and cleans parts of electrical and mechanical equipment as assigned; Reports mechanical problems tothe Maintenance Technician.- Checks and replaces light bulbs and exit light bulbs.- Cleans lint, dust and dirt from dryers, vents, and heat registers in patient rooms and other areas.- Hoses out garbage cans.- Keeps ground cleared of debris; Collects and disposes of leaves and refuse in keeping with local code.- Assists in performing fire drills.- Washes windows and screens outside the building as assigned.- Assists with lubricating potty chairs, wheelchairs, shower chairs, wheeled geri-chairs, drug carts, etc.- Works jointly with housekeeping department personnel to service floors, all patient rooms, baths, lounges, nursesstations, and offices, as assigned.- Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
