Members of the team provide technical assistance to John Deere dealers through the Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) hotline. The work is challenging, fastpaced and very fulfilling. Product support professionals work with every area of the company, including engineering, service parts, manufacturing, marketing, the branch organization, dealers and customers. Through exposure to all facets of our business, individuals can identify other areas of the company that may serve as a future career path. What You'll Do John Deere's Construction and Forestry (C F) Division in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Factory Technical Support Specialist to provide dealer DTAC (Dealer Technical Assistance Center) support for current, new, and past models of the Deere Backhoe product line. In addition, you will: Participate on project teams to drive quality and reliability improvements into the product. Document failure modes and assist in failure analysis. Work individually in troubleshooting and solving complex problems on the Backhoe product line. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosis of engines, fuel injection systems, hydraulic systems, electronic control systems, mechanical drive systems, and structural components. Involves daily communication and coordination with Backhoe DTAC team members, dealers, and with our customers - both internal and external. Required travel to the field to gather data and to assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues on Backhoes. We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a BS degree or higher in a technology or engineering related field; an Associate's degree in a technically related field with vast mechanical and diagnostic experience; or a background that demonstrates the ability to perform analytical work that can be used in determining problem severity. In addition, we require: Knowledge of, or the ability and desire to learn, high pressure hydraulic, engines and fuel injection systems, electro-hydraulics, and electronic CAN based machine control systems. Analytical skills to analyze failure modes and quantify issues. Strong mechanical aptitude and hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills. Good teamwork, people, and communication skills. Ability to speak fluently in English and conversational in Spanish. A strong candidate will also have: Team leadership to lead quality improvement project teams. Presentation skills. Experience with Ag or construction equipment repair and maintenance. Experience working with Ag or construction equipment dealerships.
