Supervises and coordinates the activities of the regional cardiovascular services personnel engaged in performing a variety of tests, treatment and related services to ensure high-quality patient care in the cardiovascular services department. Responsible for daily operations in a clinical setting that fosters an environment of patient focused ,quality, and cost-effective care delivery. Collaborates with other members of the CV services leadership team, CPMG physicians, and regional department chief (RDC). Role models positive service behaviors and demonstrates commitment to quality of patient care, supporting physician/clinical provider's practices. Assists with and/or manages staff, schedules, performance management, projects, budgets, evaluations, and other related leadership activities. Holds team accountable for productivity, creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with kaiser permanente's principles of responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse. Essential Functions: - Supervises, leads, role models and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in providing excellent patient focused care and supporting physician practices through the provision of integrated, effective and innovative clinical practices and related medical services. - Demonstrates and promotes exemplary service orientation to patients, members, providers, and staff. - Participates in interviewing and selection of assigned personnel; oversees training of personnel and ensures orientation to policies, procedures and expectations. - Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards. - Manages staff, provides direction to team members, and evaluates personnel performance. - This includes motivating, coaching and counseling on immediate performance issues and recommending appropriate action, disciplining and terminating in compliance with EEO/AA goals and personnel policies of the organization. - Participates in issue/conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and the discipline process. - Ensures appropriate staffing schedules are achieved. - Submits payroll. - Assesses and develops recommendations for new or revised general or nursing policies, procedures, and guidelines. - Maintain current information and knowledge of all applicable Kaiser policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards. - Position requires working with interruptions, occasionally working with bio-hazardous waste, and working around machinery and moving equipment, such as wheel chairs. - May be required to lift patients using proper lifting technique.
