Accountable for development, implementation & ongoing oversight of quality care coordination to assure both cost effective delivery & member satisfaction. Responsible for patient focused, quality, effective, efficient care & service behaviors of clinical staff. Accountable for role clarity, communication, & performance management of staff. Partners w/ the physician leaders in creating a culture of commitment to patient focused service, innovation, compliance, ethics & integrity. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics & integrity. Maintains knowledge of & assures departmental compliance w/ Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility & policies & procedures, & applicable regulatory requirements & accreditation standards. Responds appropriately, including required reporting, to observed fraud or abuse.

Essential Functions:
- Defines & assesses problems; develops & implements solutions.

- Oversees quality care coordination, & delivery of services.

- Coordinates & collaborates w/ all care settings in the delivery system to ensure continuity & integration.

- Establish practice standards for supervised clinical staff. Identifies, develops, & implements clinical guidelines.

- Supervises, leads, role models & coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in providing excellent patient focused care.

- Interviews, selects, evaluates, motivates, orients, trains, coaches\counsels, disciplines & terminates unit personnel in collaboration w/ physician leaders & in compliance w/ requirements of EEO/AA goals, union contracts, & personnel policies of the organization.

- Continually improves service & staff productivity.

- Improves quality in partnership w/ CPMG. Monitors, identifies & investigates competency issues & service or support deficits associated w/ daily operations & overall patient care within the unit(s) & develops & administers corrective measures in collaboration w/ Permanente physicians to ensure safe & efficient working conditions.

- Collaborates w/ other facility leaders to design systems for providing high quality patient care services.

- Ensures highest standards & monitors clinical practice & documentation within the department to meet and/or exceed appropriate licensing/accrediting agency guidelines and/or standards.

- Manages labor relations.

- Coordinates & adheres to budgetary needs for operation of the unit.

- Maintain current information & knowledge of all applicable Kaiser Permanente policies, local, state & federal laws & regulations, & accreditation standards.

- Ensures that the training activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, local, state & federal laws & regulations, & accreditation standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors & principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives.
- Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, & behaviors necessary to provide superior & culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, & to purchasers, contracted providers & vendors.



Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience in health care program development, implementation & care coordination required.
- Masters degree or equivalent experience in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field required.

- Demonstrated ability to supervise and/or coordinate the activities of staff in a clinical setting.
- Critical thinking skills & the ability to quickly achieve results are essential.
- Strong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills required.
- Position requires working w/ interruptions, occasionally working w/ bio-hazardous waste, & working around machinery & moving equipment, such as wheel chairs. Standard medical office environment. May be required to lift patients using proper lifting technique.
- Position requires oversight & travel to multiple locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in a leadership role is preferred.
- Preferred licensed in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or any other health care related license may be considered.
