Required Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of professional coding experience
- Coding certification to include the following: CPC, CCS, RHIA, and RHIT (no CPC-A, RHIT – A, etc.)
- Ability to identify and code diagnosis codes according to CMS and ICD-9 standards
- Anatomy knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of coding guidelines
- Basic computer and office suite skills
- Demonstrated ability to use resources to increase knowledge and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous facility based coding experience
- Previous managed care experience
- Pharmacology knowledge
- HCC coding experience
- Experience with HEDIS
