Summary:

This Portfolio Executive will report to the Director of Orthopedic Contract Services at Novation. This person will manage specific orthopedic product contracts as assigned. Will conduct periodic business reviews and strategic planning meetings with key suppliers and routinely monitor supplier compliance to contract terms and conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for the execution of the Novation contract business process which includes: identification of and assessing member needs, product and market assessment, market research, both primary and secondary, competitive bid and bid analysis procedures, involvement with councils, committees, and/or task forces to validate findings, clarification, legal documentation, development and implementation of business plans, and marketing communications
  • Must achieve, maintain and grow the targeted revenue base for the contracts assigned, as well as demonstrate financial aptitude in the preparation of expense and revenue budgets
  • Must manage relationships with members who are accessing products/services through Novation business services and/or facilities distribution/product agreements; and assure member satisfaction through timely communication, problem resolution, participation in councils and the execution of individualized support plans
  • Collaborates with the field team to investigate and implement new programmatic offerings while maintaining practical knowledge of the healthcare industry, market dynamics and new technology

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in a business or a health care related field
  • Clinical and/or business experience in the advanced Orthopedics is definitely very much preferred, along with hospital value analysis experience
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience in marketing, sales or business development in the health care products industry or progressive managerial experience in a health care organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in the competitive bidding, launch and management of high profile agreements with documented revenue results
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software products (Word, Power Point, Excel and Access)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Up to 20% travel required
  • Flexible, action-oriented team player
