Description

Business Analysts are integral to the business in any decisions that may be impacted by technology, serving as consultants to business units in planning and coordinating systems analysis and the design and implementation systems to automate processing or improve business systems.
Skills and Knowledge

Successful candidates for the role of Business Analyst must
be able to:

Analyze business partners' operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine
opportunities to automate processes and functions.
Gather business needs as well as the design of solutions through direct interaction with business unit leaders, system and
data architects.
Focus on developing and improving business processes, assisting with the development of metrics,
both within the technology and business originations.
Identify, propose and influence business solutions, negotiate deliverables and requirements across
multiple business customers or organizations.
Ensure the design and integration of proposed system software and hardware solutions leads to the
development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.
Be integrally involved in "buy vs. build" decisions.
Work closely with both development staff and the user community to establish and manage business processes. Create functional
and technical specifications/requirements documentation that clearly defines business, development and QA needs and serves as a baseline for future
development.
Perform a liaison role between user areas to assist in the identification of process improvements, system
design, testing and implementation of large and/or complex technical projects, often requiring coordination of multiple functional areas.
Interact with project teams, application teams, architects, and users.
Formulate systems, processes and procedures to parallel and strengthen overall business strategies.
Provide consultation on complex projects and is considered amongst managers, clients and peers to be
a top-level contributor/specialist
Demonstrate proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full
system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies
Facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
Apply an analytical approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to conceptualize systems
Show strong conceptual and analytical skills; success in working on high impact cross-functional teams;
Demonstrate strong decision making and problem solving skills.

Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other
related field (or equivalent work experience).
6-8 years of IT and business/industry work experience with solid experience in systems analysis, structured
analysis, or methods and procedures.
Strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the relevant
business.
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, relational databases (Oracle,
SQL-Server,etc.) and how they work
Expertise in process design and documentation methodologies, and design and production of quality deliverables, process and
use case modeling, business case development
Ability to work independently and in a team environment is necessary.
Experience working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.
Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system
documentation skills
Must be a "team player" able to work with senior management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define
application needs and identify feasible solutions.
Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
A customer-focused service attitude
Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives
Strong Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and data analysis tool skills.
Experience in the development/configuration of Enterprise systems

Top level technical contributor with expertise in particular business processes responsible for formulating system's scope and objectives relative to the company's business plan and industry requirements. Acts independently or as a member of a project team responsible for providing technical guidance concerning the business implications of the application of various systems. Provides technical consulting on complex projects. Devises and/or modifies procedures to solve the most complex technical problems related to computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Creates detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years IT-related experience
