The Diesel Application Engineer is responsible for the overall design, development, verification, and release of diesel engines in future model year passenger cars, and light duty trucks. The Engineer will manage all aspects of the application and utilize their experience in diesel engine technology, design, and development to ensure the seamless integration of engine and vehicle. Vehicles with world class noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance, and fuel economy are the expected outcome.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
* Minimum of 3 years industry project/engineering leadership experience
* Minimum of 2 years diesel application experience in any combination of engine, transmission, controls, vehicle adaptation or NVH design and/or development
* Professional verbal/written communication skills, and capable of a broad scope of responsibility
* Ability to work in teams, and must have excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
* Automotive industry, global business, and team leadership experience
* Project leadership/management presentation skills
