The Lead Engine Ventilation (Positive Crank Ventilation) System Expert -Center of Competence is responsible for leading a cross functional team of design and test engineers to review and update corporate design/validation practices, review and critique new PCV system designs, review validation test results and conduct competitive bench marking exercises. The Expert will be accountable for component, system design, release responsibility, and the mentoring of new PCV System Engineers. The design/release role involves the design and development of both new and existing engine ventilation systems/components, creating component/system design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), design validation plans (DVP&R), and coordinating the testing required to execute the DVP and documenting the results.

Successful candidate will be involved with resolving manufacturing plant and field issues as necessary. He/She will also be responsible for all facets of assigned components including design, prototype procurement, validation, release, supplier signoff, and production issue resolution, i.e. cradle to grave responsibility. Other responsibilities will include being involved with managing cost, weight, investment, targets, and warranty. Some travel required to supplier and corporate engine/vehicle assembly plants -- including Canada & Mexico.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in PCV system design and development with OEM and/or Tier 1 or 2 suppliers
* Good understanding of gasoline engine hardware and function
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Team player and able to manage multiple priorities while considering the inputs from a variety of stakeholders
* Motivated self-starter, and willing to work in a fast paced environment
* Create and apply component/system DFMEA's and DVP&R's
* Read and understand component drawing and GD&T
* Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
* Some travel required to supplier and corporate engine/vehicle assembly plants -- including Canada & Mexico

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
* Understanding of manufacturing, assembly, and quality processes
* Green/Black belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable
