The Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Home is a secure facility for juveniles ages 11 through 17. It is regionally based. Detainees are held from the Cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Arlington County. The facility has a pre-dispositional, post dispositional and immigration program. The immigration program is refered to as the Office of Refugee and Resettlement Program/Division of Children Services.

Brief Description:
The Office of Refugee and Resettlement/Department of Childrens Services (ORR/DCS) Case Manager provides full case management services to Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) who are housed in a secure detention facility.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
Assesses needs, coordinates services, collects required documentation and develops service plans, and all other case management services.
Coordinates services and maintains contact with all involved agencies to ensure successful execution of the service plan;
Maintains all current and past UAC records and files to comply with all ORR/DCS and NVJDH policies and procedures;
Ensures the proper completion of all necessary paperwork from intake to release, including collecting information from the UAC sponsors and previous placements;
Conducts community unit meetings and individual meetings
Works as a member of the case management team, supports security staff in carrying out the behavioral management system;
Implements/organizes/develops programming as requested, including but not limited to, educational/vocational summer activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field, and three years of experience with adolescents. The case manager must be fluent in English and Spanish. A masters degree and licensure is preferred.
Additional Requirements: Must have a current Drivers License and be able to pass the Virginia State Police, Child Protective Services and FBI background checks.
