Job Description
The Social Worker provides social work services for facilitating solutions to complex, medically related psychosocial/environmental problems of patients and families. The Social Worker provides assessment, educational and supportive counseling, information and referral services, and guidance to the patient and family during hospitalization and outpatient treatment. The Social Worker works collaboratively with physicians, nurses and allied health staff to identify and meet patient/family needs. The Social Worker maintains positive working relationships with vendors and external service providers to access service for patients. The Social Worker advocates for the rights and needs of all patients and in particular of poor and underserved populations.
Basic Qualifications:
MSW or BSW degree from an accredited school of social work. Current Social Work certification or licensure in the state in which social work practice will occur. Two years supervised practice in a medical setting preferred. Strong communication and human relations skills and ability to interact with a variety of people at different levels within and outside the organization. Basic computer skills required.

Schedule Details: Rotation of day and evening shifts. Primary social work coverage for ICU and 3rd surgical as well as back up for other acute social workers.
