The Department of Residential Facilities provides a full range of facilities management services for the campus's residence halls, on-campus fraternities and sororities, and several of the campus' recreational facilities. The Service Center Assistant Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the department's 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year Service Center which is the first point of contact for nearly 9,800 residents and staff requesting maintenance, housekeeping and other related services from Residential Facilities.
Responsibilities:
Assists with the leadership, development, supervision, and training of 2 part-time student supervisors and up to 20 part-time student employees who staff the Service Center. Participates in after-hours on-call management rotation to provide support and guidance, returning to campus when needed.
Works with the part-time student supervisors, Service Center manager, Assistant Director, and other department staff to identify changes in procedures, processes, or expectations that affect the services to be provided and supported by Service Center desk associates. Assists with development and execution of training for Service Center staff and for maintenance and housekeeping staff.
Serves as primary manager for the Service Center key box. Issues and maintains department-wide portable communication devices. Maintains the inventory of Service Center supplies, equipment and materials. Generates periodic and ad-hoc reports for department leadership staff.
Reviews each day's work (service requests, key slips, audits, etc.) to assure part-time student supervisors are appropriately involved with resolving their staff's performance issues. Provides coaching and counseling for desk associates.
Other duties as necessary and assigned.
Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience, to the low $50s. Requirements |
Qualifications: Requirements include a bachelor's degree, and three years' progressively responsible full-time work experience in a management/administrative position. Excellent communication, problem solving, writing, customer service, and organization skills required. Valid driver's license with less than six (6) points required. Experience training and supervising a part-time or undergraduate student workforce desired. Preferred: Experience in higher education working with and providing services for college students, and experience in coordinating administrative operations for a facilities management, campus housing, or related service provider.
