Altria Client Services' role is to help Altria Group and its operating companies responsibly meet their business goals by providing the high-quality services they require in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Accounts Payable department in Richmond, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for resolving and processing invoices for payment in Accounts Payable. Specific accountabilities include:
Processing invoices for payment in SAP/JDE systems.
Verifying that invoices posting directly into Payment Systems are correct.
Resolving complex invoice issues with minimal guidance.
Balancing daily work.
Investigating potential duplicate payments.
Responding to internal and external requests in a timely manner.
Assisting business clients with Scan One processes and SAP inquiry functionality.
Conducting systems user testing under the direction of a test leader.
Performing ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
Identifying project opportunities within area of expertise.
Maintaining and updating job desk documentation.
Providing cross-training and back-up.

Requirements |
Qualifications include:
A high school diploma plus a minimum of 6 years accounts payable experience.
Advanced working knowledge of SAP 4.7, 6.0 and/or JD Edwards accounts payable systems (must understand the various document types and their impact within the system).
Ability to work independently and make recommendations to address systems issues.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word) required.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Strong analytical skills to support problem solving with business and systems processes.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with multiple levels of Finance management.
Ability to manage multiple projects and complex tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends, as required.
