Job Description
SUMMARY Under minimum supervision performs general maintenance activities including the servicing and troubleshooting and repair of pumps, motors, vents, piping systems, pneumatic systems and large industrial equipment. Welding (Mig, Tig, Stick, Aluminum, Mild Steel, Stainless Steel.) gearboxes, pipe fitting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •Operates hydraulic presses, cutting torches, welders, saws and grinders. •Installs new equipment. •Reads and understands OEM Manuals. •Maintains and constructs production and plant equipment. •Diagnoses, analyzes, investigates and corrects causes of malfunction of plant equipment and machinery. •Utilizes basic maintenance skills-welding, mechanical work, equipment adjustment, plumbing, masonry, pipe-fitting, troubleshooting and lubrication. •Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. •Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration. •This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS •High School Diploma or GED. •Required to be at least 18 years of age. •Required to pass the WorkKeys assessments in Applied Math (4), Applied Technology (4), Locating Information (4) and Observation (4). •Required to work at heights up to 40 feet. •Required to work any shift. •Required to comply with company GMP policies. •Required to work overtime if necessary. •Required to lift up to 50 pounds. •Required to have mechanic hand tools. •Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS •Three (3) years journeyman level maintenance experience. •Skilled in gas and arc weld, heli-arc. •Skilled to work from blue prints. •Good verbal and written communication skills. •Skilled in all phases of mechanical work. •Certified forklift, man lift, scissors lift. •Skilled and certified in welding. •Demonstrates mechanical aptitude/dexterity. •Skilled in hydraulics. •Skilled in fabrication and rigging.
