Several years ago, Kaiser Permanente embarked on an ambitious project (KP HealthConnect) to implement an electronic health record system (EHR) and operating platform that improved the quality of health care delivered to their members. Working in partnership with Epic, KP has invested billions of dollars in the KP HealthConnect EHR system which enables clinical staff to access to relevant health care information; and optimizes scheduling, registration, billing and coding. Internet capability offers patients access to their medical information and the ability to send and receive secure messages to clinicians. Additional functionality includes enterprise wide operational reporting. This position as an individual contributor to lead and facilitate the design, deployment and optimization of the Inpatient Suite of applications: primarily to include is Home Health, may also include Orders and Clinical Content. Reporting to the Manager, Inpatient Suite, this position will have enterprise wide responsibility for maintaining the Collaborative Build, supporting Epic software releases, supporting regional implementations, promoting KP HealthConnect optimization opportunities and delivering KP HealthConnect projects. Essential Functions: - The design, configuration and ongoing maintenance of the Inpatient clinical applications configurations for Inpatient settings. - Working collaboratively with appropriate regional, inter-regional and national stakeholders. - Ensure the appropriate integration of these clinical application(s) within the other Epic applications. - As appropriate, ensure integration and adherence to the KP enterprise terminology standards in building and configuring the Inpatient clinical application. - The building, documentation, and dissemination of appropriate configuration settings for Inpatient related master files and category lists to regional collaborative partners. - The documentation and coordination of changes to shared masterfiles and category lists with inter-regional sub-teams and other national teams. - The evaluation and analysis of changes and new functionality for the Inpatient clinical application including build level designations. - Identifying opportunities where KP HealthConnect can support key business initiatives, be used to streamline business process and be leveraged to improve member satisfaction and support compliance and regulatory requirements. - Participating in business process redesign efforts. - Analyzing issues and determining resolution presented to the national team. - Participating in change request management, evaluating and coordinating regional and national change requests. - Evaluating Epic's annual software releases to identify key new functionality both for collaborative implementation as well as regional consideration.
