Provides public reception; sells pharmacy merchandise; transcribes information for prescription labels; assists pharmacist w/ clerical functions according to established procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Upholds KP's Policies & Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities & applicable state, federal & local laws
- Greets patients; initiates sales from & performs other clerical tasks by recording applicable patient information prior to routing prescription to pharmacist
- Sells pharmacy merchandise to correct patient, may determine fee for pharmacy merchandise following established procedures; records transactions w/ cash register
- Transcribes by typing, or other means, dosage instructions & data, such as drug name & quantity for labels as required by abbreviated or symbolized information written on physicians' orders
- Totals cash payments received & completes bank deposit slip for corresponding money & forwards cash register tape subtotals & transmittal form to Cash Control as required
- Provides teleph1 reception for Pharmacy by referring call or obtaining required information for prescription refill requests; pulls appropriate prescription refill request; pulls appropriate prescription order form pharmacy files & gives to pharmacist for pharmacist
- May order pharmacy merchandise from appropriate vendor as designated on inventory control document as directed by pharmacist
- May receive incoming pharmacy merchandise by signing delivery receipts; verifies contents of shipments according to name & quantity w/ related packing slips & purchase orders, notating quantities received & data of receipt in appropriate from as required; refers problems such as damaged items or discrepancies in shipping documents to supervisor; sends required documents to Accounts Payable Department after obtaining authorized signature
- Maintains pre-established quantities for pharmacy merchandise in designated areas & may maintain display shelves
- Keeps assigned area & equipment in an organized & clean condition; maintains a safe & efficient working environment
- Maintains copy of medication that are issued to nursing units & verify & maintain completed sheets returned by the nursing unit, prepares tally sheets of utilization of specifies drugs according to established procedures
- Establishes & maintains courteous, cooperative relations w/ the public, patients & other personnel
- Performs other duties as required
- Promotes, ensures, & improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent w/ the organization's philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations & quality service

Requirements |
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous pharmacy/cashiering experience required.
- Type 30 wpm or 6,000 kph. Typing test must be current within one (1) year. Please contact Human Resources for testing.
- All testing must be completed by the end of the posting period.
- Must pass DEA clearance.
