Responsible for the operations and financial performance of optometry and of optical retail stores in an assigned service area, including Optometrists. Accountable for member rating of stores, eyeglass turn around time, eyeglass redo rates (optician and optometrist controlled), Rx capture rate, Vision Services revenue, sales volume, and overall profitability. Develops Optical Store eyewear sales strategy to meet organizational goals and business objectives.
Essential Functions:
- ** This level is the second level of a two level job family hierarchy. It is responsible for a service area with greater than $10 million in annual revenues, including prepaid dues and over-the-counter retail revenues. It will have administrative staff responsibilities of greater than 50 staff size in 5 or more stores. ** - Responsible for the operational and financial performance of optometry and the optical stores in an assigned area. - Accountable for member rating of stores, eyeglass turnaround time and redo rates (optician and optometrist controlled), Rx capture rate, vision services revenue, sales volume, and overall profitability. - Develop eyewear sales strategy to meet organizational goals and business objectives. Ensures that financial revenue and expense targets are met. - Ensure that operations are meeting the needs of the member in an efficient, timely and courteous manner. - In tandem with the Merchandising Manager, develop a merchandising strategy ensure that overall store look (arrangement and design of inside and outside displays) reflects positively on the organization and supports the image of a provider of quality products and services. - Hires, coaches, motivates, disciplines, and terminates staff, as required, to sustain effective operations and to meet member needs. - Ensure that training for opticians, contact lens fitters and other staff is ongoing in member service techniques and product sales. - Develop good relationships with members, service area management, providers and others as appropriate. - Work with Coordinating OD on a daily basis to ensure integration of OD, Optician and staff operations. - May be assigned to perform duties in concert with the Chief of Ophthalmology in the Riverside and Bellflower areas as follows: Plans, implements and directs the operations/activities of the Ophthalmology Department; provides administrative supervision to ancillary staff. - Will be in combination with Optometry and Optical Store scope measures equal to the Business Line Manager I, $5 - $10 million in revenues (including prepaid dues and over-the-counter retail revenues) and 50 - 90 staff.
