Description

 

UnitedHealth Care Military and Veterans are currently seeking a Clinical Manager for our Behavioral Health Programs in an integrated Medical Management organization. In these roles, you will be is responsible for clinical operations across the continuum of care (assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating), and includes case management, coordination of care, applying Level of Care Guidelines and medical management consulting.

 

The Clinical Manager may also be responsible for providing health education, coaching and treatment decision support for beneficiaries and providers. Additionally, you will manage teams of BH Case Managers, Program Coordinators and support staff who identify, coordinate, or provide appropriate levels of care, while working closely with their colleagues in medical services and our Medical Directors. Collaboration with peers, supervisors and subordinates is a key activity to support successful execution.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Contributes to developing new programs
  • Sets team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to members of their own team
  • May oversee work activities of other supervisors
  • Ensures team meets established performance metrics and performance guarantees
  •  Audit activities to assure policies and procedures are understood and implemented and service is delivered according to internal and customer standards
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
  • Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities
  • Establishes product, service or process decisions that will impact multiple groups of employees and/or customers (internal or external)

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional level clinical experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of team lead, supervisory, and/or management experience required
  • Current LCSW, LMFT or an RN degree and license with direct experience in a behavioral health setting required
  • Master’s Degree in mental health discipline preferred
  • An URAC approved Case Management certification is preferred, or obtainment of the certification within 18 months of hire on assuming the position
  • Advanced computer proficiency (MS Word, Outlook, Internet)
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 NAC form SF86.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience developing workflows or implementing process improvements to gain operational efficiencies
  • Proven history of driving operational performance and achieving established metrics
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interrelate with individuals at various levels
  • Ability to develop effective business relationships across business and product teams
  • Prior experience leading and participating in cross functional and interdisciplinary teams
  • Bilingual

As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group’s contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf, (the National Agency Check or “NACâ€).  Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role.  NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will result in termination from this role.
