Position Summary:


The Functional Quality Manager role is to communicate and implement the best practice testing strategy within the organization and how it fits with the project methodology.  This position manages a team of QA Leads and Analysts with a deep expertise in test planning and test script build and automated testing tools.   Will work collaboratively with 3rd party vendors to define scope of testing for projects and framework to be deployed. This position leads a team of 3-7 employees and/or contractors.

Key Accountabilities


  • Leads a high performing team that delivers:


    • Overall testing strategy utilizing best practices and tools


    • Preparation of test specifications working with functional design teams


    • Preparation of test plans and build of these plans within defined tool for documentation


    • Resource management of teams that will perform activities of test script build and test plan creation


    • Reporting of testing status during project execution and driving testing completion in accordance with project timeline


  • Works collaboratively with the IT-Plan organization to understand incoming demand and perform resource management.


  • Develops strategies around software and application testing in areas of new functionality, integration testing, and UAT


  • Provides recommendations for regression and VST testing based on activity being planned for future projects


  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with key 3rd party partners and providers.


  • Develops long term vision/strategies for the Testing COE and collaborates with service transition for successful execution


  • Aligns Testing priorities with business direction and IT strategy


  • Creates and manages departmental budgets and monthly financial forecasts.  Oversees budget execution of subordinate managers and teams.


  • Leverages solution knowledge, business experience, internal network and personal expertise to contribute in a very visible and responsible manner.


  • Continually grows the IT capability within core technology disciplines for Rockwell Automation


  • Leads and inspires teams that work effectively and in harmony across the entire IT and Business organizations



Minimum Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience


  • Projects: Experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and multiple business process segments 


  • Management Experience: Minimum 3 years of management experience


Desired Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of HPQC or equivalent testing tool.


  • Knowledge of application testing theories and practices


  • Experience in providing testing strategy for ERP solutions


  • Knowledge of software Quality engineering process


  • Experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools


  • Demand Management and managing multiple projects


  • Experience/knowledge of the Enterprise Application
