Responsibilities


NSA's High Performance Computing (HPC) team develops and integrates advanced architectures and unique technologies to sustain its world-class HPC inventory. Applicants have the opportunity to research, design, develop, program, integrate, and test HPCs and all related components.  NSA stays abreast of, and utilizes, new and emerging HPC technologies to address NSA's unique and critical mission.

Software Engineer: Analyze, design, verify, validate, implement, apply and maintain software systems. Appropriately apply discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, and other relevant topics in computer science and supporting disciplines to complex software systems. Generalize techniques, as appropriate, to apply to multiple domains. Develop and provide appropriate documentation and training. Present briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders

Testing and Evaluation Specialist: Develop unit and system tests to evaluate compliance with customer requirements. Conduct testing and evaluate cyberspace operations capabilities and the effects of developed capabilities. Make recommendations based on results.

Computer Systems Researcher:  Research and create prototype computer and network system technologies. Forecast, analyze and recommend commercial and government-wide standards development, and push the state-of-the art through exploration, prototype and product/process promotion.

Computer Systems Architect: Design and build the information technology framework or environment, using commercial hardware, software, networks, and security, within which systems function. Guide information technology technical projects to produce results that comply with the established project requirements and IT architecture. Identify, manage, measure, and maximize reuse, and manage change to the IT architecture. Keep IT architecture up-to-date by reviewing and introducing changes based on project requirements and by applying industry trends, emerging technologies and standards, and new vendor offerings. Collaborate with technical and application teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to support project requirements.

Qualifications/Experience


Salary Range:  $66,228 - $85,464 (Entry/Developmental)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. An Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

Degree must be in Computer Science (CS). Related fields (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics) may be considered relevant if the programs contain, at minimum, a concentration of courses in the following foundational CS areas: algorithms; computer architecture (not network architecture); programming methodologies and languages; data structures; logic and computation; and advanced mathematics (for example, calculus, discrete mathematics). Information Technology (IT) or Information Systems (IS) degrees may be considered relevant if the programs contain the amount and type of coursework equivalent to a CS major.

Relevant experience must be in the software development process (i.e., requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment/installation, and maintenance) and programming.

Salary Range:  $79,334 - $105,663 (Full Performance)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience or a Doctoral degree and no experience. An Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
