We are looking for energetic engineering students who want to advance their hardware engineering capabilities and be part of a collaborative team that loves innovation.
The position of Hardware Engineering Co-op within Rockwell Automation is a high energy, team-oriented and educational hardware engineering position. Students will be exposed to high-speed microprocessor-based product designs for industrial control currently under development, and programmable devices as well as some level of power conversion and analog components.
As a co-op you are an essential part of the hardware team and work hand in hand with professional hardware engineers. A senior-level mentor will be assigned to support your professional growth as a hardware engineer and to ease the transition into the professional work environment.
If you want to become well versed in proven embedded hardware techniques and become comfortable in a professional software development environment then this is the place for you. You can expect progressively challenging assignments with each term at Rockwell.
Our goal is to prepare students to compete for an entry-level software positions upon graduation.
You will participate in one or more of the following assignments:
Assist with product troubleshooting product prototypes using high speed oscilloscopes, logic Analyzers, DVM's, and other lab equipment
Help set-up and execute sophisticated environmental, noise and power-cycling tests
Analyze test results
Write simple test diagnostics
Develop test routines using Ladder programs
Assist with component evaluation and selection
Assist with trade show preparation, sales tools or competitive product analysis
Assist with the management of hardware revisions by engaging the change management process;
Perform schematic creation or work on Printed Circuit board design
College sophomore level or above; studying electrical or computer engineering or equivalent at an accredited 4 year college or university.
Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Permanently eligible to work in the US
- Education with emphasis in practical circuit design, including microprocessors and programmable devices
- Good communication skills,
Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment
