We have an immediate position available for a detail-oriented Software Developer who desires a position in a fast growing company. The work atmosphere is dynamic and intensive. The candidate should enjoy working at a fast pace, meeting deadlines and working closely with a team. The Software Developer position reports directly to the Application Development Manager, and will work at our Northwest Container Services division in Portland, OR.
Must be able to understand and conceptualize applications from both technical/programming perspective and a business point of view.  Candidate will work with internal employees to understand business application requirements for functional areas within the organization.  Responsible for managing the entire application process to design, develop, code, test and debug applications.

Responsibilities include:
Must have experience with industry standard software development lifecycle process and the ability to support and enhance current custom in-house .NET applications. Work with business units that use the applications to understand requirements and execute requested enhancements. The applications typically have a SQL database as the data connection thus requiring SQL knowledge and experience writing dynamic stored procedures and SQL Reporting.

Other requirements include:

  •          IIS 7.5
  •          SQL Server 2005 R2
  •          .Net 2.0 and 4.0
  •          Visual Studio 2012
  •          SQL server reporting services 2005
  •          Source Control is Team Foundation Server 2012

    Ideal candidate will possess:
  •     Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree; or equivalent work experience in VB and C# software development and database integration
  •     Proficient Microsoft .NET framework, Web Development
  •     Working knowledge of any/all of the following:
    -    C#, ASP.Net
    -    Mobile Application Development Experience - iOS, BB and Android
    -    ASP, VBScript, IIS, HTML
    -    Visual Studio and Visual Source Safe
    -    Web page design
    -    Microsoft Windows Server 2000 or higher: server and workstation
    -    Thorough understanding of MS SQL keys, triggers, stored procedures and views
  •     Strong written communication skills
  •     Ability to document technical work and processes
  •     Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills, procedures and approaches
  •     Demonstrated ability to meet very short deadlines & multi-task in an extremely fast-paced work environment with little direct supervision.
  •     Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment, providing back-up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers within and across functional areas
  •     Extreme attention to detail required
  •     Proactive and positive approach to tasks
