The Lean Engineering Intern will support and assist Performance Engineering team members with various activities in support of achieving productivity, project, and process improvement goals. Activities may include any of the following as well as other duties as assigned:
Support project management activities by updating project schedules, scheduling team meetings, managing activity lists, following up on action items, completing data analysis, supporting brainstorming and process mapping exercises, as well as various other activities associated with project management.
Support productivity efforts (product cost reduction) by gathering information from SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and other data sources, compiling data and presenting summaries, completing data analysis, generating project charters, and presenting results to stakeholders for review.
Support process improvement activities by reviewing and documenting business processes, identifying opportunities for process improvements, implementing changes in processes, training users of processes, and auditing of processes for compliance.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Permanently eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Engineering Management, or related field
Textbook knowledge of Lean and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience working on project teams in an environment focusing on achievement of team goals
Completion of two or more years of study in undergraduate program leading to degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Engineering Management, or related field
Practical experience working with Lean or Continuous Improvement tools
Successful demonstration of project team leadership
