SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
To assume a leadership role in planning, implementing and directing Inventory Control activities as it relates to Inventory Management. Ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. Conducts physical inventories and leads cycle count analysis and when able corrects cycle count discrepancies. Performs health checks and generates health checks for the PCA team to ensure system health and overall inventory data is accurate and up to date.
Manage inventories to optimize current assets, utilizing forecasting and planning manufacturing system tools as well as functional inputs from Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing and Management.
Perform statistical analysis on shortages, looking for root cause and applying corrective action to avoid outages in the future.
Minimize inventory investment by systematically reviewing items with excess/obsolete inventory, look for root cause and use preventative action to prevent this reoccurring in the future. Make disposition on this stock.
Develop and measure inventory goals, which support the Business Units' objectives. Segregate and control inventory in manageable segments through the use of different product categories, safety stock, analysis codes and family group codes.
Process and monitor stock controls and new product introduction through frequent forecast reviews. Adjust as needed.
Perform comparisons between lead times and product needs - alert buyers on lead-time requirements - follow up and make recommendations on standard vs. class "R" stocking levels.
Perform special analyses and related duties as required by Management.
Perform various support activities as required by Manager/Supervisor.
Control work efforts by establishing performance goals, measurements and evaluations for the benefit of the division and the personal growth and development of the individual.
Assist Supervisor/Manager in assuring that MRP system data, pertaining to all parts, is current and reflects divisional objectives.
Generate materials reports such as Health Checks, Monthly Inventory Review files, Orphan Material data, and E&O material data.
Forecast facility metrics through the use of SAP, historical data, and COGS forecasts.
Update ABC classifications as necessary.
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standard of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO9000 & 14000, governmental regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
- APICS and/or CSCP certification preferred.
- ERP/MRP experience preferred.
Ability to communicate and work with a wide variety of departments.
Advanced Excel skills preferred (Pivots, VLookup, and Nesting Functions)
