Position Summary:



This position is responsible for managing the design of Low and Medium Voltage Drive products including drives, software programming tools, communication modules, user interfaces and support options. You will also be a key contributor responsible for the development of technical talent, organizational planning, process improvements and working with the Product Management team to develop strategic product and business plans.  Reporting into this position are the functional managers for firmware, software, control and security.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functional Expertise


  • Applies knowledge of organizational and management skills to build, maintain and coordinate a highly technical development group producing industry leading products in a global market.


  • Grow the capabilities of a team to meet the changing demands of new product development


  • Knowledge of the engineering processes required to design, test and release a product.


  • Demonstrates an ability to plan, acquire and manage state of the art facilities and equipment needed to develop power products.


  • Provides a social environment that is inclusive and conducive to the development of state of the art products in an efficient manner.


  • Responsible for the patent and legal activity regarding intellectual property creation.


  • Remains abreast of technical trends in the industry that could impact product performance, size, cost and quality.


  • Ensures adherence to policies relating to the highest Standards of Business Conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:




  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or technical related degree.


  • 8+ years of embedded software functional management experience.


  • 8+ years of experience in firmware, or embedded software, or software based product development.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of  technical managers.

  • Experience in Scrum or another Agile development framework. 
     
  • Experience with the concepts of a secure development environment.
