Under the direction of the Control Firmware Engineering team, provide support for the development of control firmware used in electric drives and control systems.
Duties include, testing, coding, test development and research into new technologies.
Must be currently enrolled full time at MSOE, UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University, or UW-Madison, pursuing a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Motor Control.
Experience with motor control algorithms or other closed loop control systems including use of simulation tools.
Available full time for summer employment and approximately 10-20 hours during the school year.
Required Work Authorization: Permanently eligible to work in the US.
Ability to interface verbally with varied levels of an organization.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
Proven personal organizational skills.
Individual must have a demonstrated record of technical competence, interpersonal skills, leadership ability, and a strong desire for achievement.
Proficiency at Microsoft products, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point required.
Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
Understanding of power electronics applications, including low voltage inverters, UPS systems, or similar technologies is desired.
Course work in Control systems, Hardware Engineering, Microprocessors and PLC programming are a plus.
Matlab/Simulink auto-code generation training and experience is highly desired.
Previous co-op or intern engineering experience is desirable.
