Senior Engineering Technician

Sr. Right of Way Agent

$23.82 per hour

There is one opening with Yakima County Public Services, County Road Department. The Right-of Way Agent performs more difficult and complex negotiations and settlements.   Serves as a lead worker to subordinate Right-of-Way Agents.  Education and Experience: Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in Real Estate, Business or Finance and four years related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties of the job. Responsibilities:

 

Responds to questions or concerns of property owners and the general public. Negotiates with property owners, within defined limits.

Serves as a lead to subordinates; instructs and/or trains others in work procedures, techniques and methods. May “fill-in” for the Manager in the Manager’s absence.

Reviews projects in order to determine right-of-way appraisal requirements.

Writes, reviews and prepares a variety of technical records, such as cost estimates, land appraisals and/or types of contractors needed.

Coordinates activities between department sections or with contractors and governmental agencies. Provides input for operational procedures.

 

Performs a variety of support activities requiring technical expertise, such as researching title vesting, determining land values, reviewing and/or inspecting the work of contractors. Assists Manager to make sure projects are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
