The Project Manager, is a key role in the organizations' ability to deliver business benefit realization through successful project execution. Within the Global Sales and Marketing Organization, the Market to Quote processes include Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Quotes and Proposals, Incentive Compensation, Reporting and Customer Information.
As a project manager, this individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of project planning, implementation, budget tracking/analysis and closeout. Key aspects of responsibility include (but are not limited to) resource allocation, project scope/schedule/cost management, risk management and effective stakeholder communication.
Coordination across functional areas will be critical in order to drive successful implementation and deliver business performance improvements.
Manages the development and execution of projects that vary widely both in scope and cross-functional team members
Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Ensure resource availability and allocation
Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Seeks out new people to engage with and new sources of information that will strengthen the model, without waiting to be told. Additionally, possess the ability to predict potential roadblocks and proactively mitigate risks.
Instills a sense of urgency and able to prioritize and focus on the critical issues with the highest business impact and ensure proactive business communication to manage and align expectations
Monitors the progress of others and redirects efforts as required
Communicates effectively and establishes credibility at all levels
Establishes and maintains relationships with key personnel, whether BU, IT or third parties/vendors
Proactively provides input and feedback to key stakeholders and leadership about project and process activities
In a diverse business environment, communicates and listens to key stakeholders and business leaders to establish and understand the challenges and barriers they face in deployment and adoption of new business processes / systems while maintaining the importance of Rockwell Automation's engagement in the ongoing operations and business priorities
Takes into account the global impact of local activities and decisions
Able to understand complex and detailed business processes and identify opportunities and risks; able to define the problem, ask the right questions and find the right inputs for resolutions.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Quality, or Engineering
3+ years of professional work experience with activity in cross-functional or cross-business processes
Previous successful project management experience in a highly matrixed environment
Ability to negotiate and influence key personnel across multiple business units and geographies
Previous program and project management experience; Results oriented with proven leadership to multi-task and drive execution of project deliverables
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
LSS Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt
