As an Associate Software Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will have the opportunity to develop industry-leading commercial software, known for its innovation and usability. You will also be responsible for performing entry-level software testing tasks including, but not limited to, test execution and anomaly reporting.
In this position, you will be highly involved in module design, implementation, and testing, working very closely with the support of our senior engineers. You will play an active role in all the stages of the development lifecycle and support your team throughout the process. You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. This position will allow you to collaborate with multiple global cross-functional teams.

Becomes knowledgeable in the department's software development and test process and procedures.
Becomes proficient in the use of software tools required to analyze, design, debug and test software modules.
Develops and documents code that demonstrates an understanding of the design requirements.
Develops and executes thorough unit test plans. Reports, analyzes, debugs and corrects anomalies. Assists with integration of other components to achieve a final product.
Participates in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
Responsible for testing components of the product against the specification(s) and provide feedback on the product quality. Some testing techniques may require developing of test cases, test procedures, test software and test tools using sound engineering practices and adhering to team standards.
Builds relationships and interacts with team leads and peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
Able to provide work estimates and progress reports.
Actively seeks knowledge of new developments in the software engineering, computer engineering, and software testing fields.
Takes ownership of assignments by understanding expected output, requesting help as needed.
Basic understanding of C++, C#, or other relevant programming languages
Basic understanding of data structures and algorithms
Previous experience in an entry-level software development role, including any internship or co-op programs
Basic understanding of object-oriented designs and design patterns
Basic understanding of software test methodologies
Basic understanding of automated test tools
