Position Summary:


SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
 
The RF Design Engineer will report directly to the Sensing Engineering Manager and will be required to work with senior and peer level members in the design, development, validation, release, manufacturing, production and support of inductive proximity sensors and other RF based sensing projects.
 
RF Design Engineer shall participate in the development of RF based sensors from concept through production, responsible for the complete validation and qualification of the product. Working in a cross functional environment, duties include: design, optimize and validate the sensor device electrically and functionally; create and maintain technical requirements, specifications and other supporting documents; determine design approaches, techniques, and algorithms based on product specification and reliability/quality requirements; define engineering tests to support design and production.
 



Minimum Qualifications:


Required Experience:


  • Experience with RF system design, simulation and prototype testing.  


Preferred Experience:


  • Electrical design for industrial or commercial RF products.


  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Electromagnetics.


  • Experience with coil and antenna design.


  • Good understanding of RF passive components such as Hybrid couplers, Wilkinson dividers, waveguide, Circulators, and directional couplers.


  • Ansys Maxwell and HFSS for Electromagnetic/RF simulation.


  • Experience working with embedded firmware development and debug tools.


  • Previous experience in sensor design and development is desired. 


 
Education and Experience Required:


  • MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, strong background in physics is a plus, 0-2 year experience.


  • Or BS in Electrical Engineering, 2-4 year experience.
