Position Summary:
Summary/Scope of Position:
Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing daily and weekly operations of the work cells to meet goals and production requirements.
 
Essential Functions:
 
Functional:

  • Balances workload and assigns work to work cell members on a day-to-day basis to support work cell and departmental objectives.
  • Assists in completing tasks to meet deadline and commitments.
  • Balances and assigns work cell priorities to best achieve customer satisfaction and business objectives.
  • Schedules and provides on-the-job training for work cell members.
  • Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives as required for work cell.
  • Expedites materials and parts through the Planner for the Department. Manages reprioritization of workload and schedule.
  • Manages department metrics, SIP charts and RAILS.
  • Operates material handling equipment as applicable.
  • Assembly process expert.
  • Process auditing as applicable.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of SAP.

Leadership

  • Supports employees in achieving goals in safety, quality and customer service
  • Provides data for measure of work cell and cell members in attaining cell goals
  • Assists in creating environment that supports change, problem solving and process improvements
  • Promotes development of an engaged team environment with department
  • Ability to facilitate cell meetings
  • Demonstrates compliance with company policies, procedures, and culture.
  • Provides input for preparation of employee performance appraisals

Interpersonal

  • Develops effective working relationships with cell members and across functions and businesses
  • Interacts effectively on a daily basis with the support resources assigned to the work cell
  • Communicates to management, support personnel and cell members any information and updates associated with manufacturing orders in work cell
  • Represents work cell in meetings with various support groups
  • Effectively communicates to all shifts the daily goals of the work cell (This may require period flexing of work hours).
  • Works with cell members to build the team atmosphere necessary to support work cells
  • Supports the team for implementing projects within the work cell or department

Business

  • Understands department goals and utilizes this information to recommend improvements and changes
  • Responds urgently to customer needs
  • Understands documentation and processes associated with the work cell
  • Monitors performance of work cell and cell members towards achieving cell metrics
  • Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulation (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation information Network
  • Trains and motivates team members in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures
  • Obtain Yellow Belt certification



Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience in product and process knowledge preferred or prior experience as Team Leader of cell manufacturing.
  • Ability to physically perform routine functions of level of assembly work in cell with or without reasonable accommodations.
