Positions in this function interact with customers gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies. Provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function. Educate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications. Monitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billed. Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables. May also include quality assurance and audit of billing activities.Primary Responsibilities:Interact with customers gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepanciesProvide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing functionEducate customers regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applicationsMonitor outstanding balances and take appropriate actions to ensure clients pay as billedManage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivablesMay also include quality assurance and audit of billing activitiesPrior experience creating Medicare invoices for billing as well as collection functions will be advantageousModerate work experience within own functionSome work is completed without established proceduresBasic tasks are completed without review by othersSupervision / guidance is required for higher level tasks


Requirements

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED1+ years of experience in the medical field Moderate proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applicationsModerate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook (create, edit send emails and update calendar), Microsoft Word (create and edit), and Microsoft Excel (create, edit, formulas and filtering) Preferred Qualifications: Two or four year degree (or higher) in Business or Accounting 2+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems 1+ years of experience with Medicare billing or claims Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish Soft Skills:Prior stable work experienceAbility to navigate a computer while on the phoneAbility to multi-task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each productAbility to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitive Physical Requirements and Work Environment:Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computerService center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activityCareers with AxelaCare.
