We are seeking a Senior Manager of Reporting and Analytics for our food service program at Northwestern University. The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers, training and strong communication skills both written and oral. Previous experience as an Analyst at a large volume multi- unit operation is preferred.

The Senior Manager of Reporting and Analytics is the lead financial manager for operations and financial reporting for our Evanston Campus as well as Athletics and Chicago Northwestern locations. Focused on analytics and projections, spotting trends, this position will be seeking positive financial opportunity’s as well as identifying potential negative outcomes. Successful candidate will report to the District Manager and have direct involvement with the Regional Vice President. Position will oversee the financial reporting office that includes two controllers.

Sr. Manager of Reporting and Analytics / Controller - Multi Location / Multi Account

Provides a leadership role within a Finance function. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing and preparing financial reports related to the finance function. Analyzes, reviews and implements process improvement. May lead a significant part of a project to enhance the internal and/or external financial reporting capabilities. Develop internal and/or external relationships to ensure maintenance and delivery of financial reports and information. Contributes to the tactical and strategic direction of the financial reporting function.

Our team focuses on communication through inclusion and cooperation to find creative approaches to everyday business needs. It is critical that this position has strength in communications both written and oral with the ability to manage through change.

The successful candidate will have a BA with further emphasis on financial analysis and PMP certification desired.

Ideal candidate would have:

  • High technical competency in the analysis of structured and unstructured data sets
  • Ability to author / analyze in Tableau, SPSS
  • Ability to construct complex, multi-dimensional statistical models (predictive, proactive, lagging)
  • Commercial acumen
  • Innate curiosity, collaboration
  • Ensure the development of capabilities to enable easy access to high quality, integrated Reference, Master and Metadata
  • Leading analytical data designs (e.g., dimensional modeling, DW table & index design, DW database design)
  • Build real time operating environment, as well as systems requiring high availability, increased performance
  • Design & build in support of Business Analytics and Information Management functions.
  • Design overall user (internal and external) experience
  • Good design principles are needed both to satisfy the need for pleasing esthetic's and to ensure the effectiveness of the system
  • Ensure perceptual separability; other critical areas include overall layout and effective typography
  • Critical for data storytelling (infographics, interactive end user models

Position Summary

Principal responsibilities include ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial results for both Sodexo and the Client. Manages all accounting and financial matters for large multi-size national account or a large complex single location account. Responsibilities include accounts payable/receivable, budget, payroll, reporting, inventory, chargeback's, etc. Responsible for accounting and financial reporting. Analyzes account budget(s). Performs financial analysis to assist decision making. Provides financial training for unit personnel.


Basic Education Requirement - Associate's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of experience in finance, accounting or related field
