Responsibilities
The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation.  The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense.  The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes.  The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information.

The Capabilities Watch is an enterprise unit strategically located at the Regional Capabilities Centers (RCCs).  The NSAH Capabilities Watch Officer (CWO) has the primary responsibility for maintaining situational awareness of the NSAH IT infrastructure (ITI) of RCC-Hawaii region. 

The CWO is a member of a 24/7 IT support team responsible for overseeing and managing daily operations at the regional level while providing around the clock capabilities support to mission elements across the watch floor broken up into four key areas:

Technical. Leverage a wide range of accesses and technical tools to immediately fix many of the technical issues that hinders a mission operator's ability to do their job

Escalation. Act as escalation manager liaison between operations and support elements for rapid IT restoration

Notification. Provide timely updates to customers, Senior Leadership, the  Senior Operations Officer (SOO) and  Capabilities Service Center (CSC) for situational awareness

Documentation. Maintain sufficient documents of record pertaining to break/fix

As a CWO, you will be responsible for a wide spectrum of duties including:

- Monitor various network/system platforms
- Provide direct technical support and restoration across a wide range of IT platforms to include fixing temp profile issues, clearing hung sessions, starting/stopping processes,
fixing certificate issues, create and deleting customer accounts, troubleshooting network peripherals and wiring, etc.
- Function as the Escalation Manager by working with customers to escalate the restoral of IT services when mission is negatively impacted; requests and/or performs recall of
System Administrators to facilitate restoration of mission critical IT infrastructure as deemed necessary
- Attends and participates in daily meetings and briefings
- Lead and assist in site wide evacuation and recall efforts for the organization and command
- Conduct pass down briefings, maintain pass down logs and present to on-coming CWO
- Maintain sufficient lifespan documentation to include but not limited to; dates/times, name(s), issue or incident reported, impact, ETA/ETR, action taken, inquiries, general comments and resolution, etc.
- Participate in performance and stability trending analysis
- Evaluate current watch procedures, recommend and implement process improvements to maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Train and mentor newly assigned and/or junior watch standers
- Provide guidance to customers on ticket submissions and ticket processing
- Work incident and request orders assigned to local workgroup queues; contribute to the team effort to decrease overall ticket queues for all assigned workgroups.

Qualifications
Salary Range:  $79,334 - $105,663 (Full Performance)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience. The following may also be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position: an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience; or at least 18 semester hours of military coursework/training in networking, computer science, or cyber topics plus 5 years of relevant experience.

Degree must be in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or related field (e.g., General Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Assurance, or Computer Security).

Relevant experience must be in using specialized test equipment and network analysis tools (e.g., ping trace-route, network management software, and loopbacks) and include network engineering (i.e., design/analysis of networks, routers, switches, firewalls, protocol) and/or installing and configuring networks, routers, and firewalls.

Salary Range:  $88,936 - $135,110 (Senior)

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
This is a full-time position and is considered emergency essential. Additionally, this is a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
