Position Summary: 

If you are an accomplished diesel technician, supervisor or instructor who enjoys sharing your knowledge with others we would like to hear from you! Penske Truck Leasing is looking for candidates to deliver technical training to our field technicians. Our onboarding program is designed to give the successful candidate the instructional tools and procedures to succeed as a Penske Technical Development Trainer. This proven, comprehensive program includes teaching strategy, technical training, and shadowing with successful Penske Trainers. Instructional experience preferred but not necessary for the right candidate.

Major Responsibilities:

- Deliver consistent technical training programs to maintenance associates, particularly Diesel Technicians, Customer Service Representatives and Shop Maintenance Management.

- Primarily focused on fundamental training courses, this position will use sound facilitation skills to ensure proper delivery of content to build participants' skills while reinforcing maintenance processes and procedures.

- Other projects as assigned by the Manager of Technical Trainers.


- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelors / Associates degree preferred; Vocational or Technical degree preferred
- Experience as an instructor in a classroom and/or hands-on environment preferred
- 3 or more years of experience as a technician in the heavy duty truck or similar industry preferred
- Prior experience as a lead technician, supervisor, or manager preferred
- 608 and 609 EPA certified preferred
- Advanced knowledge of safety practices preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required
- Some experience with MS-Office tools: Word, Excel, & PowerPoint required
- Ability to work independently along with strong organization and time management skills required.
- Ability to travel up to as much as 70% required
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
