Immigration Case Manager - Bilingual (Social Services / Human Services)

Job Responsibilities

This is not your typical job. It definitely gets you out of the office. With your background in nonprofit, social services and/or human services as our Immigration Case Manager with bilingual skills, you will be interfacing with a range of stakeholders including program participants and their families, community resource, our local customer contact and staff.
Additional responsibilities include:

Engaging in daily interaction with program participants which can vary greatly by their personal circumstance and progression through the immigration court system

Checking in with clients at their residence to ensure they are following supervision requirements gets you out of the office and into the community

Supervising some participants using electronic monitoring ankle bracelets or other technology

Tracking participants compliance to related curfews and interpreting monitoring data

Conducting participant orientation and assessment, managing detailed case records, collecting participant travel documents and complying with program requirements will make up a large part of your daily activities


Requirements

As our Immigration Case Manager with bilingual skills, you must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and demonstrated tact when interacting with the public. You will need a high degree of professionalism and sound judgment.
Additional requirements include:

Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field

At least two years relevant experience in a field related to law, social work, detention, corrections or similar field

Experience interacting within multicultural environment.

Bilingual Spanish/English

Demonstrated sound judgment and even temperament; ability to maintain self-control in stressful situations, such as interpersonal confrontations or emergencies or defuse hostile or unstable situations

Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

Ability to display cultural sensitivity and understanding

Basic knowledge of immigration laws, regulations and procedures

Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and the Internet
Ability to interpret electronic monitoring messages and daily summary reports
