Position Summary:
Join a global team dedicated to New Product Development in the Low Voltage Motor Control Center Business, responsible for CENTERLINE 2100 and 2500 MCC Products.  This is a Senior Mechanical Development Engineering position that will participate as a member of cross-functional Development teams which develop leading industrial control products.  Create and prove the feasibility of design concepts and track the functional requirements of programs relative to product cost, performance, and timing.  May lead functional portion of a project through its entire design cycle. Accountable to meet product requirements and design specifications. Create sound Engineering documentation and records as specified by our Common Product Development Process. Must be able to evaluate and develop various designs and manufacturing methods to optimize product functionality and manufacturability. Additional responsibilities include supervising major tooling orders, overseeing functional and certification testing, and directing one or more mechanical designers through the execution of a project.

Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
5 + years of new product development experience.
Experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo (Pro/Engineer) or SolidWorks).
Possess an understanding of ProE to model plastic, cast and sheet-metal parts and assemblies, as well as technical aptitude for performing engineering calculations, tests and required experimenting to solve complex electromechanical problems involved with the operation of the product.
Must have min. of 2 years of ProE CAD/CAE design experience. Complex net shapes (moldings and castings) are essential. Also must be able to manipulate very large assemblies (>200 components) effectively.
General understanding of heat transfer and electromechanical theory.
Must have the ability to conceptualize designs and improve on existing products.

Experience with DfSS tools (DFMEA).
Experience designing complex mechanical components and assemblies, including moving parts and mechanisms
Have a thorough working knowledge of mechanical product development and possess a strong understanding of manufacturing needs.

Desired Qualifications:

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
Experience designing products for use in harsh industrial environments which are subject to a range of temperatures, shock & vibration, chemical exposure, and ingress protection.
Some experience with Simulation and Modeling (Ansys) preferred
Experience in the application of FEA theory to solve complicated thermal, mechanical, and electromagnetic problems with simulation and modeling techniques (Ansys, Maxwell, Icepak)
Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise software.
Understanding of UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standards
Demonstrated experience with multi-action tooling fabrication techniques to support complex plastic injection molded or die cast components is a plus.
Demonstrated experience with common manufacturing and assembly processes such as ultrasonic welding, adhesives (and other sealing operations), heat staking, PCB assembly, etc.
