The Department of Modern Languages and Classics at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Spanish with a specialization in 20th- and 21st-Century Spanish-American Literatures, beginning August 16, 2018. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and advise M.A. and Ph.D. students. Evidence of a rigorous research agenda, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and an active interest in developing curricula that integrate literature, culture, and language in the program are required. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is also required. Expertise in a specific region and/or genre is a plus. The candidate must have Ph.D. in hand by August 15, 2018.
